Make your way to Parkes, a quirky town known as the Elvis Capital of Australia, for its annual Elvis festival held in January. There is somethig for everyone here including a range of restaurants, small townships to visit and the iconic Dish that cannot be missed.

Suggested activity - For any Astronomy lovers, head to the Parkes Observatory and see 'The DIsh', a huge radio telescope which weighs a staggering 1000 tonnes. The accompanying visitor centre will help you to explore the universe and discover what makes space exploration so exciting.

In the morning, depart for the ever growing town of Dubbo, famous for its Western Plains Zoo where animals are free to roam over a much larger space than your conventional zoo. There is plenty to do here, we would suggest taking a local heritage tour which wil give you an in depth understanding of the history of this famous town at a leisurely pace.

Today you are free to explore Dubbo at your own pace, maybe check out the zoo or one of the nearby wineries.

Suggested activity - Take a journey back in time and learn about real life stories of former prisoners at Old Dubbo Gaol. A well preserved piece of history, now acting as a museum, this prison was closed in 1966 and provides an insight into how the judicial system once operated.

Hit the open road as you make your way inland towards Outback NSW, stop off in Louth for an overnight stay.

Suggested activity - Drive through Cobar and check out the Cobar Miners Heritage Park, built to commemorate the miners who lost their lives in the mines. It features a a 2 metre bronze sculpture of a miner along with various artefacts.

Proceed wtih your road trip and make your way to Broken Hill (otherwise known as 'The Silver City'), a frontier mining town which sits on a wealth of Silver, Lead and Zinc deposits. Its name derives from the fact it used to sit on a range of hills that had breaks in them, today they no longer exist due to mining but the name has stuck. For a true remote experience, Broken Hill has so much to offer from stunning views to fun mining experiences.

Suggested activity - Head straight to the Living Desert and Sculptures and walk around this beautiful reserve, taking in the local Flora and Fauna, as well as the Sculpture site. It will provide you with an understanding of the Aboriginal heritage in the area as well as an opportunity to enjoy a variety of walking tracks.

Young Driver Fee
Where a renter is aged between 21-24 a young driver fee of $16.50 inclusive of GST (Capped at $115.50 in each 30 day period) will apply for Standard passenger vehicles.

Drivers Licence -
Renters must present a valid driver's licence that has been held for at least one year. A foreign driver's licence issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a certified English translation of the licence or a current International Drivers Permit. Both the International Drivers Permit and the driver's national driver's licence must be presented at the time of rental.

Deposit
All rentals are subject to a deposit to cover additional costs. A min of AU$200 applies for Metro Locations, $200 for Remote Locations, $200 for Licensee locations and $400 for 4WD locations in Sydney and Melbourne if using a credit card in the name of the renter. A cash deposit is not accepted
